How do I deposit cash in to my checking?

My fiance will be giving me cash to put in the checking. I do need the funds in there ASAP. Would I be able to deposit the check in to my checking if he signs it over to me.

According to the instructions in My Account Tools, you can deposit cash at any one of ATMs that are affliliated with USAA. PNC Bank is one. I haven't done this yet, but seems like a reasonable option.

You will have to pay Western Union $12 to deposit cash into your USAA account.

You can also make the deposit into an account you open at a local brick and mortar bank, link it with your USAA account, and then transfer the funds. That can take a few days though.

Another option (which is even slower) is to turn the cash into a money order and send it to USAA like any other deposit.

Yes. However, ASAP may be 3-7 days depending on how long it takes the check to clear into your account. You can deposit an endorsed check into your account through the mail or at a UPS store.

Hi,
The only way I know is to mail it in, but I really recommend against that since the USPS is so "reliable". For Cash, I keep a local bank account, whoever's cheaper, then transfer that money to USAA. I wish there was another way.

According to the FAQ:

Using USAA's Easy Deposit, currently one *may NOT* deposit the following check types: (1) Cashiers checks; (2) Money orders; (3) Foreign checks; (4) Savings bonds; and (5) Traveler's checks.

As for what you MAY deposit using Easy Deposit:

"You can deposit endorsed checks from U.S. financial institutions."

In short, only standard business/personal checks issued by banks located in the USA (currency must be in U.S. Dollars) are available for the Easy Deposit system. Of course, you may always mail-in your Money Order (properly endorsed & accompanied by a deposit ticket) to deposit it.

No! The UPS Store cannot split a check deposited on the USAA Easy Deposit system. They must deposit the check entirely into your account. They do not offer check cashing services at any UPS Stores as a matter of UPS Policy.

Unfortunately no. UPS stores are only able to accept "straight" deposits, meaning the whole amount of the check. After the deposit has posted, which usually takes minutes, you can then go to an ATM and withdrawl the funds you need..........provided those funds are made available immediately.

After depositing a check and confirming the available balance, you can get cash from any grocery store, WalMart, etc. that has debit pinpads. You don't pay a fee that way. Much better than ATM fees!

No, a UPS store will not give cash back on a personal (or any) check deposit. It must clear first, and then you can use an ATM.

answer 2
Yes, you can. It is especially easy if you are both on both accounts (the one you are transferring too and the one you are transferring from), but even if the account you are transferring to is with a different account, you can set that up online, so that you can do online deposits. You simply have to add that account, and it does take about 3 days, as I recall, for the account to be verified and all that, before you can transfer money, but once it is, you can pretty much instantly transfer money, no more waiting, no more phone calls. You will need the bank routing number and the account number.

Trying to remember how you go about doing that. I'm sure you can probably call the bank and tell them you want to add his account for automatic transfers/deposits, but you can do it online as well. Or at least you could last time I tried. I believe if you go in to set an automatic transfer it may give you the option to choose/add an account/non usaa account.

Do a little poking around, take advantage of the search option. Try searching for Transfer to a non-usaa account, or whatever the case may be.

Hope that helps! :)

Yes! If he has a USAA account, you can go into account tools and add him as a "transfer" setup. If he does not have a USAA account, you can add him as a "payee" under Pay Bills. After he's added as a payee, then you can even set up "automatic payment" if you want it to be recurring.

Yes. I do this with my wife. If you are not a signatory on the account you can still deposit into the other account but you cannot withdraw funds. You need the account number and routing number from the other account and add it online.

I know you can do this. My wife has a separate account that is authorized to transfer money from our Saving. This allows full access to our funds should something happen to me. We simply requested this access by sending an email (use the online email within the site) and it was done quickly! Your husband will need to do the request since it's his account you need access to.
Good luck!

How can my daughter deposit to my checking account?

The easiest way to accomplish this would be for your daughter to log on to her bank's website and setup recurring transfers to your account; it doesn't matter what institute either of you does business with as long as she has your routing and account numbers. For example, if your daughter banked with USAA, she would go "My Account Tools," and then select "Add an Account" under the Transfers section. She would then follow the steps to add your checking account. Next, she would go back to "My Account Tools" and select "Make a Transfer." Your daughter's account would be in the "From" field, while your checking account would be in the "To" field. When the "Transfer Type" field appears, she'll select "Automatic Transfer" and be asked to provide the amount, frequency, and the starting and ending dates of the transfers. Finish the rest of the walkthrough, and you'd be all set.

I hope all this helps.

You can set up a transfer from her account to yours by authorizing transfers from outside of USAA accounts in the tranfer funds section, or if you go to your account settings its an option there also! Good luck!

She can't deposit money into your account via Easy Deposit because the member must present their debit card upon arrival at the UPS store in order to deposit into that particular account.

Unless she is on the same account as you, then she could use the debit card associated with that account and deposit it accordingly.

Question

How long does it take for all your funds to be avaible using ups?

I just did my first deposit using UPS. Looked on my phone says it all is in my account, got home to pay my credit card and only $100 out of the $152 could be used, on hold until the 8th. Has this happened to anyone if so what were the results? I was able to pay my bill just would have been nice to go do something else.

Made an almost $900 deposit on the 10th of the month...all but $100 was put on hold and not available until the 16th of the month. I was expecting it to be much quicker than that, so I am pretty disappointed with this deposit option so far. Seemed like a great idea/option for making deposits, however it turned out to be less than ideal.

Yes, I've had this happen but for an even larger amount. I was told by USAA that the money has to go through a "loop" in electronic transfers from whomever you deposited it, through a 'clearing house' before getting to USAA. It ususally takes 4-5 business days for the transaction to clear through all the computers that have to verify that there really is money being transferred.

Usually there is a note by the deposit on your account that states there is a hold on funds until a particular date specified and only a partial deposit is credited until it clears the above hurdles. If you are in a bind, call customer service and I guarantee they will jump through hoops to help you out. If you have bills to pay before your funds will be available (like we did) then they will credit at least enough to pay the bill and give you a few spending $ until it clears.

USAA is the only financial institution where they actually proffer real Customer Service to their clients these days. I suppose that's because the 'clients' are actually the 'owners'. No Bank will treat you as well....
